Newton's Second Law

N(II) in words
When a resultant force is applied to a body , it produces an acceleration of the body in the direction of the force.
The acceleration is directly proportional to the force applied and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

  1. What will happen to a stationary object if it suddenly experiences a net force. Explain.
    It will accelerate.
This is in accordance to Newton's second law.
  2. A 2kg mass experiences a resultant force of 10N to the right. Calculate it's acceleration.
